Amsterdam-born Albertus Jonas Brandt was a true master of the still- life, having copied the celebrated painter Jan van Huysum as part of his studies. Brandt began this mesmerizing study of Flowers in a Terracotta Vase but did not live to complete it; it was finished by his pupil Eelke Eelkema. A Mixed-Media painting.
