Painter and engraver Abraham Bloemaert began his career as a Dutch Mannerist artist who ultimately reacted to balance in High Renaissance art with his own form of asymmetry and rendered tension. Bloemaert’s unconventional posing of figures, aided by his mastery of light and color, help to animate the divine wrath upon his subjects. Remastered at Art Chateau 2014.
