French artist François Hubert Drouais was a student of Francois Boucher and a widely-regarded portraitist of the children of the well-heeled. This Drouais depicts two young nobles in the costume of traveling laborers from Savoy, a future Count of the illustrious Choiseul family, and his younger brother, who would become a Knight.
