Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin was born into an impoverished family of shoemakers in the late 19th century. As a young man, serendipity gave him an opportunity to study art in Saint Petersburg and then to Munich and Paris to further his vocation. His Bathing of a Red Horse in 1912 was an immediate success and became his most iconic work. A Mixed-Media painting from Art Chateau.
