Academically-trained artist Vittorio Matteo Corcos was a portraitist, genre painter, and magazine illustrator. Corcos rendered the likenesses of notables such as Kaiser Wilhelm II and Benito Mussolini. The artist was especially gifted in depicting attractive young women, as he did here in “Alluring Gaze”, an exquisitely-rendered portrait of a captivating siren.
