Moonwalk, c.1987, Screenprint

Pop artist Andy Warhol produced art that challenged the very meaning of the word, and the consumerist culture it sprang from. Warhol also was the mind behind the avant-garde Velvet Underground band, fronted by Lou Reed. The first moonwalk took place on July 20, 1969, when astronaut Neil Armstrong took a “giant leap for mankind”.
