Agnolo Bronzino was born in Florence, Italy to a modest family where at an early age he became a pupil of Raffaellino del Garbo. Bronzino first received Medici patronage in 1539, when he was chosen to execute the elaborate decorations for the wedding of Cosimo I de' Medici to Eleonora di Toledo. Many of his works are still in Florence and can be seen at the Palazzo Vecchio Museum.
