Nazarene School painter Peter Von Cornelius was born in Dusseldorf, worked as an engraver and illustrator, and later became Director of the Dusseldorf Academy. Von Cornelius was perhaps more of a creator of art that helped rouse nationalist feelings in the German states – such as this scene from Teutonic legend – and eventually led to the creation of one German state. A Mixed-Media painting from Art Chateau.
