Matteo Rosselli was an Italian painter of the late Florentine Renaissance and early Baroque. He is best known for his highly populated grand-manner historical paintings. In 1621, he was commissioned by Leopoldo de' Medici to paint frescoes for the Casino di San Marco. Among his many pupils were Lorenzo Lippi and Francesco Furini.
