Huang Yongyu is a Chinese writer and artist who produces woodcut prints as well as ink paintings. Huang was a professor at the Central Art Academy but attacked viciously during the Cultural Revolution. This work is a fine equine figure harking back to the art of ancient China and representing a liberty long absent in the Middle Kingdom.
