Czech artist Adolf Chwala was a student at the Prague Academy who in 1864 began to work in Vienna, and for the rest of his life, he traveled in-between his native Bohemia and Germany, Moravia, and Austria, producing magnificent landscapes along the way. This mountainous scene is a lovely rendering of the peaceful Bavarian river called the Konigssee.
