British-Hungarian painter Jakob Bogdani was devoted to renderings of still-life and unusual birds. After moving to London at 30 Bogdani produced portraits of exotic birds and more domestic feathered beasts together in unnatural flocks. This work by the artist shows his rare ability to choose the apt hue and place each flying animal most pleasingly.
