Edward Pritchett was an enigmatic artist from Victorian England and very little is understood about his Italian sojourn. He apparently lived in Venice for more than thirty years, working and socializing with a group of fellow artist and expatriates including James Holland, John Wharlton Bunney, and Henry Woods. Pritchett finely executed vistas were popular with tourist on their Grand Tour.
