A student of Peter Paul Rubens, Flemish master Erasmus Quellinus II produced canvases in a wide array of forms, excelling in all, be they animal, military, portrait, or history. He aligned with the Counter-Reformation in religiously-turbulent seventeenth-century Holland. Here we see a garden room design by an artist who was an able draftsman as well.
