Film posters have been used since the earliest public exhibitions of film and by the early 1900s, they began to feature illustrations of a film scene or an array of overlaid images from several of the movie scenes. For over two hundred years artist have used advertising posters selling everything from Opera to soap and represented a wide variety of artistic styles.
